Blackmore End Village Hall improvements
Blackmore End Village Hall has been succesful in obtaining the neccessary funding to carry out significant improvements to the disabled access and toilet facilities. In this respesct three grants have been approved by the following organisations:
Veolia Environmental Trust £29,875.00
Braintree District Council Mi Community £12,000.00
Essex County Council Community Initiatives Fund £9,000.00
The new toilets will be situated in the existing kitchen area incorporating separate male and female toilets and a fully equipped disabled toilet. The kitchen will be transferred to the existing rear entrance area and will include fully fitted units and apploances.
Disabled access to the new rear entrance will be via a new ramp combined with general access which will ensure full incorporation of physically disabled people in all village hall and playing field usage.
It is anticipated that work will commence during May this year and be completed by August.
During the period of the improvement works there will be some inevitable disruption to the hall rear access but front access will still be maintained. Temporary toilet facilities will be provided, Continuity of the village hall usage should therefore still be feasible without interruption.
We hope that we will also be able to improve the rear parking area, the extent of which will depend on available funds.
Our sincere thanks go to the fund providers who have enabled these much needed improvements to be carried out.
